Grade, Measurement, & Classification

Measurement of lumber is sold by the "board foot" (BF). One board foot is 144 cubic inches of material example - 12" long x 12" wide x 1" thick = 1 BF. All measurements are taken as rough lumber. Width and length of boards are random and may vary lot to lot.

If you have specific needs then specify board widths and lengths or provide a cutting list. For most woodworking projects a 35% waste factor is normal.

Small boards may be measured by BF.  If classified as a Short or Cut Off, they will be at a fixed price per piece or per pound.

Wet or dried burls and wood lumps are sold by the pound (LB) and the condition will be specified according to the grade. (as per below)

Pen Blanks will be sold on a specific price per piece or in a grade class specified as a price per blank, if in a kit or group package, there will be a price per package, kit or bundle.

The price of Veneer is by the Square Foot (sq.ft.).

A Kit, Package or Group Package is priced per package or kit unit.
